Admissions Policy 2016/2017

The enrolment for Piper’s Hill College is by way of application form which will be distributed through the feeder schools in the catchment area. Application forms will be distributed to 6th class students during the month of October preceding admission to Piper’s Hill College.

 

Students are admitted to the College subject to resources and availability of places.  There is a limit of 175 places available in 1st Year.  Students from the following catchment areas are invited to apply for places:

  • Students living in Naas and attending primary school in Naas (Convent of Mercy, St Corban’s CBS, St David’s National School, Scoil Bhride, Killashee National School, Gaelscoil Nás na Riógh, Pipers Hill Community National School)

or

  • Students living in Sallins and attending St Laurence’s National School

or

  • Students living in Caragh and attending Caragh National School

or

  • Students living in Ballymore Eustace and attending primary School in Ballymore Eustace

or

  • Students living in Straffan and attending primary school in Straffan

or

  • Students living in Brannockstown and attending primary school in Brannockstown

or

  • Students living in Two Mile House and attending primary school in Two Mile House

or

  • Students living in Kill and attending primary school in Kill

or

  • Students living in Rathmore and attending primary school in Rathmore

or

  • Students living in Athgarvan and attending Scoil Bhride in Athgarvan

or

  • Students living in Naas and attending Scoil an Linbh Íosa, Ballycane

or

  • Students living in the above catchment areas

or

  • Students attending schools in the catchment area.

 

In the case of demand for places exceeding supply the following criteria will apply. Priority will be given to:

  • Applicants who have a sibling (brother/sister) already in attendance in the Piper’s Hill College second level school.
  • Students attending Piper’s Hill Community National School.
  • Students who have had a sibling (brother/sister) who has attended Piper’s Hill College, second level school or St Patrick’s Community College, second level school in the past and live in the catchment area.
  • Students who live in the catchment area and whose parents attended St. Patrick’s Community College second level school in the past.
  • Intending applicants whose parents work in Piper’s Hill College.
  • Applicants who have completed a “declaration of interest” or “booking form” form on a first come first served basis.
  • An independently monitored lottery of remaining places.

 

Parents/Guardians maybe required to furnish evidence of a first party utilities bill to verify their address. Parents/guardians should be advised that in the case of demand for places exceeding supply, the priority order will start at 1 and finish at 6.

 

The deadline for accepting application forms is Monday 17th October 2016.

Any late acceptances will be placed on a waiting list behind those applicants who have been accepted on time.

 

Students moving from Junior Cycle to Senior Cycle (Transition, 5th & 6th Year) must formally apply and be accepted for Senior Cycle by the last day of the academic term preceding their Senior Cycle.

 

Students enrolling for the schools ASD Unit should complete a separate Enrolment Application Form.
